Flysky CT6 Transmitter Setup ‘step by step’ ….

Flksky CT6 series transmitters are good choice for low budget RC adventure. But unfortunately the online support is minimal as many professional hobbyists don’t write on this. During this two post I will go through the setup process STEP UP STEP.

The transmitter I selected in is 6 channel radio control system FlySky CT6 ( FS-CT6 ). The series has similar versions of FlySky CT6A ( FS-CT6A ) and FlySky CT6B ( FS-CT6B ). Since the transmitter FM, there is no need of binding for CT6A.

The transmitter I purchased was around US $40 with shipping from a Chinese eBay seller. The required software was supplied with the purchase but there was no manual. The manuals had to found online. The site of the manufacturer is www.flysky-cn.com (although manuals say it is www.flyskychina.com the correct one is above).

The manuals, required software and other help provided by the manufacturer can be downloaded here.

For Flksky CT6, CT6A or CT6B you need to install the CP210xVCPInstaller in the Windows_2K_XP_S2K3_Vista folder. For any other transmitter with serial port output transmitter use PL-2303 Driver Installer. The step by step installation is as follows:

Step 1:

‘Before’ plugging in the transmitter install the CP210xVCPInstaller in the Windows_2K_XP_S2K3_Vista for Flksky CT6, CT6A or CT6B (FS- CT6, FS- CT6A or FS- CT6B ).

CP210xVCPInstaller is for the CP210x single-chip USB-to-UART Bridge. In simply this is the USB cable like thing provided with the transmitter. This converts data traffic between USB and UART formats. This chip can be connected to any UART to provide instantaneous USB connectivity. Software drivers are supplied free by Silicon Labs.

Step 2:

Plug in the USB cable to the computer. The cable only itself is enough and do not connect the other end to the transmitter. Let windows install the drivers.

Step 3:

Install T6Config provided in the software folder. Make sure the only installation option is selected.

Step 4:

Go to Device Manger in Control Panel to find the correct COM port. Refer the following image. In my case it is COM7.

Step 5:

Plug in the other end of the USB cable to the transmitter. Switch on the transmitter. Launch T6config by clicking the icon.

Step 6:

In T6config click on ‘setting’ button. In the drop down list select the correct COM port noted above.

Step 7:

Move the sticks and you will see the changes on screen. Do all necessary setup tasks.

If there is any question feel free to ask.

Thank you so much, your step by step set up was on the spot but when I clicked on settings it only had com3&com4 ports, I had com7 in the device manager?

  11. admin says:

you can go down the drop-down list which is not visible..also t6config has lots of bugs where it will not detect the com ports. so restart machine always when something like that happen.

  15. Steve says:

I can not thank you enough. I’ve had this Tx for three years, no hurry to set it up, but when I did try my primary care physician would put me on Prozac for a while to bring me down. He also recommended that I change my interest and take up something less stressful like sky diving. Now that the TX is up and running I will be getting released from the hospital, my family is so happy.

    Once again thank you
    Steve

  21. Walter Jones says:

    CP210xVCPInstaller in the Windows_2K_XP_S2K3_Vista

    HOW TO DO THIS ?

  22. Shawn says:

In the T6 configuration, I went to Mix, and entered SW A as with channel six as it’s destination. You must put values in from-100 to +100 or it doesn’t work. I cant figure out how to invert the switch position, so on is up. It didn’t work in the channel reverse folder. I’ll probably just open it up, and turn them around. I haven’t tried it yet, but it works on the screen. Good Luck.

Anyone know how I can use a channel to drive a relay or a transistor to relay combo? I’m not sure what type of signal is being sent, as there seems to be 5v constant on each channel. I was hoping 5 or 6, to turn on LEDS, flashers, spare engine, or whatever else my brain wants to mess with.
    Thanks

I have a bait boat that is controlled by a flysky ct6b handset unfortunately the original handset was broken ,so I bought a new one from ebay . So now I need to set it up and as Im not techy minded wondered if anyone could advise me as to how .
we have on the boat twin props and a little tag at the front which controls trap doors for the bait dropper. Front and back lights .
so what does what ? ok the small knob on the left controls the trap doors, the lever on the left controls direction of motors up for forwards down for reverse left for left motorand right for right motor. the lever on the righ only controls lights up for on down for off thats it. the switches on the top of handset do nothing and the knob over on the righ does nothing also. as you can probably guess by the way I discribe its obvious I know not a lot about htese things so any help is greatly received…thanks
by the way the original handset was laid out as above .

  32. Jim says:

I have a Flysky CT6B. I installed the T6config software, connected my Tx successfully to mt PC and programmed the Tx for a flying wing type airplane. Everything seemed to be going OK. I installed the Rx on my plane and checked the actuators. I checked my right stick up and down and right and left. The up-down and right-left were interchanged from what I desired. I have attempted to reprogram these controls. I can successfully change the way the bars move in T6config, but when I remove my Tx from the PC and try to move the control surfaces on the plane, they still move the same way when I move the right stick up-down or right-left. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something wrong that prevents the transmitter from beinmg reprogrammed? Please help.
    Jim

  33. Jake says:

I have a fs-ct6 FM 35mhz. transmitter. I bought it brand new from ebay. When hooked it up to the computer, and tried to use config. I could only get channels 3, 4, and 6 to work . channels 1, 2, and 5 are completely dead. they don’t even register in t6config. when the other channels work fine. I even tried to see if t6config was malfunctioning, by testing the transmitter with its receiver. same result. channel 3, 4, and 6 are completely unresponsive. is there a way to repair this transmitter’s hardware. did I mention the tx emitted acrid smoke, and a funny odor. I think somethings fried. I don’t have the money to replace the transmitter so I thought I’d see if theres a way I could fix it. Anyone got ideas for this?
